Feeds and Feeding
Nutrient requirements and feeding characteristics of channel catfish have been extensively researched. This research has provided the basis for the formulation of efficient, economical diets and for the development of feeding strategies - both of which have been instrumental in the success of the catfish industry.

Catfish farmers are able to feed a nutritionally complete diet that provides required levels of nutrients and energy in a readily digestible form. It is essential to provide a complete diet because catfish can synthesize only a small portion of the required nutrients and the quantity of nutrients from natural food organisms in the pond is relatively small. Forty nutrients have been identified as necessary for the normal metabolic function of channel catfish.
Based on current knowledge, a digestible energy to crude protein (DE/P) ratio of 8.5-10 kcal/gram is adequate for use in commercial catfish feeds. Ratios above this range may lead to increased fat deposition and if the energy ratio is too low, the fish will grow slowly.
Catfish feeds contain grain or grain by-products that are rich in starch.
In addition to providing an inexpensive energy source, starch helps bind feed ingredients together and increases expansion of extruded feeds so that the feed pellets are water stable and float in the water.
A typical catfish feed contains 25 percent or more of digestible carbohydrates.
Lipid levels in commercial catfish feeds rarely exceed 5-6 percent.
About 3-4 percent of the lipid is inherent in the feed ingredients, with the remaining 1-2 percent being sprayed onto the finished pellets to reduce feed "fines".

At its most basic stage, online business can be done by anyone with minimal computer knowledge and access to the internet. In short, online business can be done by anyone either on full time or part time basis.
You do not need to be a computer wizard to be able to do online business. The fact that you are able to access your email and read this script means that you are more than qualified to do online business.
Anybody can do it because once everything is set up, all you will require is just a few hours weekly therefore it is also something you can do in your spare time.
The main things needed are:
1. Basic understanding of how to use a computer
2. Ability to browse online by yourself assistance
3. Access to the internet ( cybercafé or private browsing)
You do not need to own a computer or laptop and it is not a must that you have your own Internet connection. Most of our students started out by going to a cyber café and only when they started making some money in fact some started with their mobile phones did they decide to get their own personal computer or laptop and private Internet connection.
One question I get asked a lot of the time is whether online business can be done with a phone. Frankly, at the onset, it will be difficult and extremely tedious to do it with your phone because most of the software and applications you will be using during setup do not work properly on phone browsers so at the very least, you definitely need to use a computer at the beginning. But once al has been set up, some 9 but not all) of the follow-up tasks can be done with the phone but you will still need to use a computer frequently.
HOW MUCH TIME IS NEEDED?
It is not easy to give a specific figure for the amount of time that you need to spend on the internet while doing online business because different online businesses have different tasks and requirements.
A simple fact though is that the amount of time you are willing to spend online putting things in order and doing further research will greatly impact how far you can go and how much you make.
At the onset, you will definitely need to get online frequently. This is because you will need time to lay the necessary foundation and configure the necessary software and applications for whichever business you chose to do.
Most online businesses may require anything from 20 total hours to 100 total hours during the setup stage. How you chose to spread out this time is up to you. It could take days, weeks or months depending on the particular business. After setup now-ever, it takes considerably less time to maintain and monitor.
The actual time that you will spend will depend on your technical ability, how much work is required for that particular business and how fast you can do the necessary set up. The good thing though is that as you progress and get used to it, it will become easier to do and demand less of your time. Eventually you will grow to the stage where your business will be generating huge income with minimal input from you.
For example, I and associates can afford not to get online for two weeks or more yet there will not be any change in how much money we make daily. This is one of the best things about online business. Because most of the work can be automated, all it takes in most cases is for you to invest your time and energy during the starting stage. As long as the system has been set up properly, the amount of effort and time investment will reduce gradually over time.
The above is however not true for a business like FOREX Trading. Forex trading requires you to spend a great deal of time on the internet every week day. But we do not recommend Forex trading for a beginner to trade manually because it requires a lot of technical skill and experience to be able to succeed or else you lose all your investment. We there view it as too risky a venture for a beginner.

Luckily for you, you will not have to go through the same stress because all you need to do now is to learn from our experience and follow our lead. But this does not mean that you won’t fail at least once. The trick is not to give up even if you fail.
Although there is a certain kind of business that can actually get you profits within a few weeks, the majority of online businesses typically take between 9 and 12 months before you can expect to start seeing any tangible yields and results. Until then, it’s virtually all sweat with little returns. The only way you can speed the process up is to spend money on advertising. But if you want to follow the free, no-expense, no-capital method, then you need to prepare yourself to wait for 9 to 12 months or more before you can expect anything above N40,000 or N50,000 regularly.
Some people are not ready to wait for a year. They forget that if they don’t take action and start something today, they may still be looking for a job one year from now. One year is a short time and the sooner you start the better.
Even if you are a worker, student or otherwise currently engaged in some occupation or activity that takes up your time, you can still do it part time.
